Our Purpose

Our Purpose is to Glorify God with Biblical Worship and Service, Gather worshipers in to the Body of Christ, and Nurture them to Christ-like Maturity.

Leadership Team

Leadership in a church is a team affair. God has gifted and equipped leaders to serve in the church accomplishing work He prepared in advance for us to do!   We are congregational in our church organizational structure, yet we are greatly influenced by Ken Easom’s work and work hard at being a “Permission Giving Network” style church.  We are complementarian in our understanding of the role of Pastor/Elder, yet women play vital roles in leadership as well as prophetically encouraging and comforting the church!  The ongoing development of men and women into the leaders God is calling them to be is vital to reaching the vision God has for us. What follows is not an exhaustive list of our leaders but some of the head leaders in some of the main ministry categories.

Chris and Susan Henderson

Lead Pastor

Pastor Chris is a native to the Northwest, born in Albany, OR. He has lived in various places throughout the Northwest.  In 1990, he graduated from Oregon State University with a B.S. in Science Education.  He taught high school science for four years at Roseburg High School, before answering the call into full time ministry as Youth Pastor. He received a Master of Arts and Theology with a major in Biblical studies and Theology from Fuller Theological Seminary in June 2009.   Chris and Susan have been married for  27 years.  Susan is currently a full time 3rd grade teacher at Evergreen Elementary School .  She serves in a number of ministries in the church and is a vital part of the complementarian ministry that Chris and Susan do with couples and families.  When not working or serving the church Susan enjoys writing and singing music, writing devotional books and getting to Wild Waves as often as possible.  Chris enjoys getting out fishing and hunting.  Chris and Susan have 4 grown and married children and three granddaughters. Pastor Chris and Susan  have been serving  here at Wellspring Fellowship since June of 2000.

Elder Dwayne Estep

(Leader of  Enliven prayer ministry + )

DSC_2934My name is Dwayne Estep. I was born in Bremerton Washington and grew up around the Puget Sound area. I was drawn to God at an early age and I gave my heart to the Lord when I was 11 years old. I graduated from Shelton High School in 1979. Soon after, I fulfilled a lifelong dream and became a private pilot in 1980. I then went to Bible College near Boise Idaho and received an Associate in Divinity in 1983. I also met my future wife Shauna while attending church there and we were married in 1986. I served as a Lay Pastor for 3½ years in a small church in Port Orchard. After serving as pastor, I moved to this congregation and I have served in church leadership in various roles including church board, youth leader/teacher, worship pastor, and men’s group leader.  I have worked as a foreman in the commercial plumbing/pipefitting industry for 28 years. I am now working an AutoCAD detailer for the same company. I have three daughters, two of whom are married and I have four grandchildren. My other interests are playing drums in our worship team, cool cars of all types and I have recently taken up a new hobby building cedar strip boats.

Elder Francis Skrzysinski

My name is Francis Skrzysinski. I was born in Bay City Michigan and moved to the Pacific northwest after being stationed in the area in the Army Reserve. I later met my wife Judi who shared her love of Christ with me and I accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior in 1992 and was baptized. I have been a longtime member of Wellspring Fellowship and have served as Deacon for many years and Elder. If you come to check us out, I will most likely be the person to welcome you and shake your hand. I love my church and the genuine, caring, members. I believe in the power of prayer and God’s desire to transform lives. I actively participate in our prayer group Enliven and have truly been blessed through the experience. My favorite scripture is John 4:14 But whoever drinks of the water that I give him shall never thirst; but the water that I give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life. I have been employed working in the area of carpentry most of my life, but currently work as a custodian. I love fishing, working on my 1963 Chevy Nova and spending time with my three daughters and ten grandchildren.

Deacon Jordan Henderson

(Worship Pastor)

My name is Jordan Henderson and I have been the worship pastor here at Wellspring Fellowship since 2011.  I moved to the area with my parents (Chris and Susan) in 2000.  Music has always been a big part of my life.  My parents looked at playing the piano as a subject in school so when I was six I started piano lessons and continued them through college.  I also played in wind ensembles throughout my schooling (playing the baritone) and sang lead tenor in an opera at Olympic College.  I started playing piano for worship in church when I was 13.  In High school I learned the guitar and started playing for church.  When I finished high school I went to Olympic college to focus on music and elementary education.  From there I attended Northwest University earning my BA in Elementary Education.  While at Northwest I met my wife and we were married in August of 2013.  We currently live in Gig Harbor where I teach 5th grade at Evergreen Elementary.
