Family Institute LARGE final

We believe that the family is the basic relational building block of humanity.  God wants us to have great families so he has given us instructions, principles, and practical things we can do to achieve just that!  The Family Institute is our effort to provide our community with opportunities for education and the development of skills to help create strong families.   We want to help strengthen your family!  These classes vary in time , locations, and class offerings.  Check back often to see what is new!  Feel free to contact us if you have any questions or there are some classes you are looking for but we don’t offer.  We might be able to accommodate or recommend where you can go to find a class you are looking for.

Group Leader: Pastor Drake Henderson
This study will focus on the Old Testament Pentateuch (Genesis- Deuteronomy) and Historical books (Joshua – Neahmia)

Sometimes the Bible can be a difficult book to understand. The culture in which the Bible was written is so different from our own that at times we struggle to understand what it means or how it is relevant to our modern lives.

In A Brief Survey of the Bible, Bible professors John Walton and Mark Strauss give you the background you need to successfully understand even the difficult parts of the Word of God. They provide an overview of the Bible’s key themes, show what the teachings meant to the people at the time, and explain how those teachings apply to your life today.

Time: Wednesday 6pm-7:30 pm

Class Format: Video followed by discussion.

Meeting Format: Hybrid. Those who would like to meet in person as well as a link for Zoom. Those who would like to meet in person meet at Solomon Schlenker’s House. Those who would like to participate via zoom you will be sent a link when you register.

Book Group:Remembering The Forgotten God by Francis Chan
Group Leader: Pastor Chris Henderson

Pastor Francis Chan offers a compelling invitation to understand, embrace, and follow the Holy Spirit’s direction in our lives.

In the name of the Father, the Son, and … the Holy Spirit. We pray in the name of all three, but how often do we live with an awareness of only the first two? As Jesus ascended into heaven, He promised to send the Holy Spirit—the Helper—so that we could be true and living witnesses for Christ. Unfortunately, today’s church has admired the gift but neglected to open it.

Breakthrough author Francis Chan rips away paper and bows to get at the true source of the church’s power—the Holy Spirit. Chan contends that we’ve ignored the Spirit for far too long, and we are reaping the disastrous results. Thorough scriptural support and compelling narrative form Chan’s invitation to stop and remember the One we’ve forgotten, the Spirit of the living God.
